I have tried to install the Adobe Creative Cloud (latest installer version) as you cannot setup any of the companies' products without it and I am attaching a link below to full details of my current failed experiences of doing this on a clean MacOS install of Big Sur. MacOS Big Sur (RTM) 11.0.1 Compatibility - BIG BUG!! - Creative Cloud Installer Trouble - infinity.and beyond Adobe Creative Cloud Software Install on MacOS Bug Sur RTM - BIG BUG!!!Ĭonclusion: Avoid MacOS Big Sur at the moment until Adobe corrects their Installerĭear Community, I have just upgraded my MacBook to MacOS Big Sur - released version (upgrade from Catalina) - all seems to be very stable with everything else except for the "Adobe Creative Cloud" main installer for deploying their full tool suite. Does this mean I will NOT be able to open this library ever again on my MacBook Pro? How can I fix this problem? The thing is, I did not create it on the new iMovie version. One or more of the libraries were created with a newer version of iMovie. "The document “iMovie_XXXXXX” could not be opened.

When I connected the portable drive to my MacBook Pro to make sure my iMovie library is fine. The bar keeps stuck in the middle of the restart proceess. The computer seems frozen and does not want to restart. So I read online that I need to restart the computer. I copied what I needed, but left the drive connected to allow enough time for the copy to occur while cheching the computer periodically. Today, I conected my portable drive to the iMac so I can copy the library from my portable drive to the iMac because I have completed a project with over 100 videos in the library.

So I decided not to upgrade my MacBook Pro for now. In addition, photoshop, illustrator and Adobe softwares has some issues with the macOS Monterey. I did not upgrade my MacBook Pro because I am a university professor and when I read online it was not recommended to upgrade while using "EndNote X9" version and I am in the middle of submitting manuscripts for publications so I do not want to loose my references or affect my work in any way. I updated my iMac a several weeks ago to macOS Monterey, but not my MacBook Pro. And i have been working on on the same iMovie library all year either on my iMac or MacBook pro with no probelm at all. Then created a different library on my portable drive while the drive is connected to the iMac not laptop and conpied the libradry so I can work on my MacBook Pro macOS Mojave version 10.14.6 (same version as iMac). IMovie I created an iMovie library on my iMac macOS Mojave version 10.14.6. Hope this helps someone as frustrated as I was when I updated to Mojave only to discover that my perfectly good Adobe software had stopped working overnight. However, I quickly found this very helpful piece of advice and simply followed the instructions on installing Creative Suite 6 - and installation worked straight away for me: On the existing Mac, when clicking on install, I received an error message which effectively prevented me from progressing further. On the new Mac it installed without a problem. I did this on a newly purchased Mac which came with Mojave (I thought what the heck - i'll try it) and then did it on an existing computer that I had the initial problems on.

However, none of the proposed fixes worked for me - and I really did look around for a solution.īy absolute accident I found that to fix the problem, post update to Mojave, you need to uninstall your Adobe package and then reinstall it from the disk. What I had (Adobe CS5.5) was more than good enough for me. I was extremely angry about this since I had a very decent piece of Adobe software that did everything I needed it to (InDesign and Photoshop in particular) and I didn't see why I should be forced down a route of having to shell out for the latest versions of Adobe products due to an Apple update.
